Time for Rnd 3 with EMRA and we travelled 150 miles to the iconic motor sport venue, Mallory Park. Nestled in the heart of the Leicestershire countryside, with tranquil lakes, and rolling hills.

Deciding to stay at the Kirkby House Hotel on the Saturday Night, we woke to a chilly, overcast morning. The day slowly got better with the sun breaking through before it was time to qualify.

Race 1 was a Split Grid with Fred starting in the second group, 10 seconds behind the first group. After qualifying Fred, was 6th on the Grid in his group. After a fairly good start Fred McMullan set a new personal best that Mallory Park with a 1:01.5; finishing 8th overall and 4th in Class.

Race 2 – Mallory Park

Race 2 and due to Fred McMullan’s great lap time started 4th on the grid in his group. Once again Fred McMullan had a good start overtaking riders on the first bend on the outside.

Fred McMullan finished the race with a new personal best of 1:00.7. Finishing in 7th place overall and 3rd in class. The winner, #66 – Annabel Thomas was riding an NSF 250 British Talent Cup Bike. Ready for Cadwell Park – BMCRC R2

#82 – Foo Hinnell’s ready and waiting for Practice Day

BMCRC restarts the Season at Cadwell Park with what should have been Round 7. Due to COVID-19 the ACU suspended all racing and 5 Rounds subsequently cancelled.

Due to restrictions this only saw Ian and Foo travelling to Lincolnshire. This left the remainder of the team at their homes either with specific roles to remotely play or to follow via TSL-Timing.

Practice went well despite the unpleasant high temperatures.

We’re pleased with the performance of the Continental Race Attack Comp tyres that we are running this year; and hopefully next year. With only a few ‘slides’ but we expected this due to the extremely high track temperature. Tyre pressures were experimented with adjustments accordingly.

Foo was happy with the bike set-up of the Team CBR #2 and with a set of fresh tyre’s for the morning roll on qualifying.
